On a serious note...

I've been absent lately because of some family problems. My oldest living brother is developing some health issues and his current medication gives him photo-sensitivity.
He has contracts to mow several apartment units and now he can't, so in order to avoid a Breach Of Contract, me and another brother (I'm from a large family) are doing all his mowing free of charge till he can do it again.

I look at all the grass to mow at some places and I feel like this:

But he's got an awesome zero turn so we can usually get it done in two days and as we get a pattern down and start earlier, maybe in one day.

I'll admit, the only way I can do it with my bad arthritis is to load up on a LOT of pain meds. But for only a couple days a week, it shouldn't fry my liver.

All that time in the sun and I'm turning as dark as Geronimo (who is one of my ancestors so no slur intended!)

Don't worry, I'll be back soon with a full Blog of political humor and other mayhem. So until then, I'll leave you with this:
Looks like a majority to me!

I've Always Wanted To Eat There

Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston Missouri. I've drove by it at least a dozen times but the lines were always too long. I heard the food is great and they are famous for their "Thrown Rolls"

I guess if you want a roll, they toss it to you. And of course competitors have on their sign nearby: "Our Rolls Are Too Good To Throw!"

When somebody asks Norman Lambert to please pass the bread, he takes them literally. Lambert throws it at them.
In fact, Lambert estimates he probably throws 200 dozen homemade rolls a day during the week and 300 dozen a day on weekends. The roll throwing and other antics--as well as the food--are the drawing powers of Lambert's Cafe, located on Old Highway 61 in Sikeston and managed by Lambert.

People who visit Lambert's Cafe for the first time are invariably amazed at the generous portions served on each order. These generous servings along with their "THROWED ROLLS" have inspired many questions.

But you never know, next time I'm down that way, I may stand for hours and eat there at least once!

May 1st is: Mother Goose Day

Date When Celebrated: Always on May 1

Mother Goose Day was created only recently, as a day to appreciate nursery rhymes and stories. They are a favorite of children and their parents.

The term "Mother Goose" dates back to the 1650's. It refered to stories like Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Sleeping Beauty. It does not appear to represent a particular person, as many of "Mother Goose" stories were written both before and after this term was first used. And, the stories were written by numerous authors.
Enjoy "Mother  Goose Day" by reading Mother Goose stories and rhymes to your children or grandchildren.
