Actor John Hurt, the gravelly voiced British actor who garnered Oscar
nominations for his roles in "Midnight Express" and "The Elephant Man,"
has died at the age of 77, publicist Charles McDonald said Friday. No other details were available at this time as to the cause.
He was also the voice of the Dragon on "Merlin" and had a creature explode out of his chest on "Alien. He was "The War Doctor" on Doctor Who, and many other movies and TV shows.His career spanned six decades of Television. Also won a Golden Globe Award and four BAFTA Awards, with the fourth being a Lifetime Achievement recognition for his outstanding contribution to British cinema. He was knighted in 2015 for his services to drama. He will be greatly missed!
